CAREERS - Roadway Project Engineer

This position is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and highly-skilled roadway design professional who wishes to be part of our expanding team. The successful candidate will play an important role in the design of Mullerís numerous major roadway system improvement projects throughout Colorado for state and local public agencies, and federal public-land roadways throughout the Southwest.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
  • Design and analysis of freeways, interstate highways, interchanges, urban and rural roadways, and shared-use trails
  • Prepare studies, reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for a wide variety of transportation projects
  • Assist with design of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) facilities on a major design-build project in Central Denver
  • Support project managers with client relations, stakeholder management, and subconsultant coordination
  • Coordinate and work with a team of project managers, design engineers, technicians, and support staff to successfully complete a variety of projects
  • Take ownership of projects from start to finish 

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelorís degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university
  • 4 to 6 years of experience in the design of freeways, interstate highways, interchanges, urban and rural roadways, and shared-use trails
  • Knowledge and experience with Microstation, InRoads and/or Geopak, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and other applicable software common to the field of transportation engineering
  • Experience with Colorado DOT (or other state DOT) plan preparation procedures and standards
  • Experience with Federal Lands Highway plan preparation procedures and standards is a plus
  • Hydraulics and traffic experience is a plus
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skills
  • A desire to grow personally and professionally with each project while working in a team environment to create designs and drawings supporting our clientís overall project goals 

Required license or certification:

  • Colorado Professional Engineer License or ability to transfer a license from another state
